I recently read through about a dozen of our past Daily Guideposts books to create a weekly Lenten Devotional series we started on Ash Wednesday. And it reminded me of a daily email I used to get get from DailyGood.org

Returning to the site I discovered, happily, it’s still going strong. Still delivering good, daily.

First there is a quote. Could be from someone well-known or not, who is working to create a better world.

This is followed by a story. Stories come from a huge variety of news sources, from a big daily urban newspaper, to a small website that focuses on promoting eco-concious behavior, and everything in between. Stories are science or hard news-based: new sleep research, a study on how to be happier, or a new movement to democratize technology.

Others are features on people who are inspiring, giving back, or creating positive change in some way. Like Dan Coyne, who surprised a clerk with the news he was going to donate one of his kidneys to her; or a quadriple amputee who recently fulfilled her dream to perform at Juilliard.

The email ends with a Be the Change missive, a question, or a call to action, or extra information. With the story of the kidney donation is a site for learning more about living kidney donations; with the amputee dancer story is a website that provides steps to being disability-inclusive.

I’ll end here like DailyGood does. Are you delivering good daily? Here’s a great place for ideas: dailygood.org.
