Strength in Balance
A person can do nothing better than to eat and drink and find satisfaction in their own toil. This too, I see, is from the hand of God, for without him, who can eat or find enjoyment?—Ecclesiastes 2:24–25 (NIV)
The life of mortals is like grass, they flourish like a flower of the field, the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more.—Psalm 103:15-16 NIV
The Bible reminds us that our days on earth are, like grass, finite. Yet, if we spend our time wisely and faithfully there is a future life beyond this one, with God. Theologian John Piper said, “Life is short. Eternity is long. Live like it.” In the busyness of life it’s easy to forget that time is precious.
Heavenly Father, guide me to live each day for Your glory.
