Find Rest in Him

Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated, common men, they were astonished. And they recognized that they had been with Jesus.—Acts 4:13 (ESV)

Have you ever wondered why Jesus chose the men He did as His disciples? It’s not that they were religious scholars, it’s that they were common men, obedient and passionate, and willing to spend time with Him. As St. Augustine famously said, “You have made us for yourself, and our hearts are restless until they can find rest in you.”
